Our Story So Far

Lauren Kamps and her husband Joal are passionate performing artists and artisans. Together they own and operate Flint & Feather Jewelry and perform live folk/roots music as Flint & Feather. The Kamps regularly travel throughout Western Canada promoting their Rocky Mountain inspired works at public and private events and they are always coming up with new designs and ideas.
Lauren started creating handmade jewelry in 2013 shortly after getting married to Joal on the day of the infamous Alberta Flood (June 21, 2013). She and Joal then travelled throughout North America performing free concerts for at-risk youth, all while crafting one-of-a-kind jewelry from natural resources foraged along the way including: stones, feathers, antlers, bones, and driftwood.
Nowadays Lauren's designs have evolved, featuring high-quality metals, real leaves and antlers, and dainty woodland themed charms paired with real freshwater pearls or semi-precious stones. The result is a collection of stunning and affordable Alberta-inspired jewelry and accessories. Each piece is designed with thought and care – with the intention of keeping home close to the heart.
"My hope is when you wear our Alberta-inspired jewelry, you'll feel strong and free
– and as beautiful as the Rocky Mountains themselves!"
